St Augustine of Canterbury
Catholic Primary School

Our Curriculum

At St Augustine's we strive to create a truly balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all children irrespective of their academic ability or preferences.  English and Maths are core subjects and we often work in a cross curricular fashion to illustrate those subjects across the curriculum. Further information can be found at:

The Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception) curriculum is organised differently according to national expectations and covers 17 areas of learning.

We offer prescribed interventions for those children who may struggle academically or have special educational needs.  Our philosophy is always to push children as far as they can in order to meet our Mission Statement.  Extra curricular activities including trips, residential visits, specialised music and sports tuition as well as visiting specialists all contribute to our distinctive curriculum.  It is vitally important that children's esteem is built through subjects they all enjoy and succeed at.
